Have you ever heard that photography is “the art of seeing?” That’s misleading... If you wish to get out of spray-and-pray mode and make more deliberate, expressive images, it takes more than just seeing…photography is the art of perceiving. But with so much to think about—from before a trip to being in the field to processing our work at home—how do we know what to pay attention to? In this educational presentation, outdoor photographer Colleen Miniuk will share the benefits of and tips for incorporating a mindful and autotelic approach in our photography practice. Learn what to pay attention at different stages of our creations, how to establish a personal relationship with your subjects and scenes, and how to ensure the meaning you experience comes out of your camera.
