Smartphone Photography

In the April Smartphone SIG meeting, we continued viewing the next segment of the new smartphone short course recently purchased by the Club and showed some phone images taken by a few members.

In the May 8th meeting at 9:00 am, we will follow much the same program: watch another segment of the smartphone short course, have a brief discussion, and view members' photos. This session of the course comes in two parts: a slightly longer one related to the resident camera app for iPhone and a slightly shorter one for Android. Though the short course does not utilize the most recent versions of either system, the essential functionality is largely the same.

Those in attendance at the May meeting will decide whether to meet in the summer or to reconvene in Sept or October

As usual, if you have some phone pix to share, either that you are proud of or demonstrating some feature of your phone, please bring them aseeting until September 2026 a JPG file on a flash drive or send them to me at brucehale.bah@gmail.com

October General Meeting & Charlie Walker Photography in Space Presentation (10/10/2026)

This presentation will be about Photography in Space - additional description will be added when received from the presenter.

Charlie Walker’s career in aerospace industry began in 1972. Most recently he was an executive at The Boeing Company. Living in Arizona he now consults, lectures, and writes – also enjoying photography, amateur astronomy and travel.

Walker has experience in the U.S. Space Shuttle and International Space Station programs. He has flown as a crewmember aboard three early Space Shuttle missions as private industry’s first researcher in space. That work included the zero-gravity purification of biomedical preparations targeted as pharmaceuticals on Earth..

His career has included research, engineering, operations, management, business development, and government relations. He has authored dozens of papers, articles and book contributions.
